A Wuxia inspiration

For the record, Where Winds Meet arouses a certain curiosity, particularly in view of the depth of gameplay that it promises. The game is presented as an action-adventure RPG, which immerses the player in a vast open world inspired by China during the Five-Year period. Dynasties and the Ten Kingdoms, in the 10th century – the game universe is subject to climatic hazards and populated by numerous characters with whom to interact (human beings and demons). The player plays a young swordsman in search of his own identity and who shapes his own Wuxia, his Chinese martial arts techniques.

According to the developer, Wuxia is at the heart of the gameplay, as much for combat techniques as for exploration or problem solving. For example, Tai Chi allows you to manipulate the opponent's strength and to counter a certain gentleness to the enemy's strength – the player can thus use the power of a waterfall to create a breach in a wall that seems impenetrable, or turning an enemy's weapons against him.

The player will have access to many different skills and weapons to gradually master (the spear, the long sword or the broad sword, the twin blades, the fans or even the bow), and will be able to join one of the different factions Wuxia from the game universe to unlock special abilities – or on the contrary choose not to join any faction to maintain a certain versatility.
