Update 7 for “Baldur's Gate 3” has been released for the PC. However, some desired features are still missing.
On Thursday, the developers of Larian released the long-awaited Update 7 for “Baldur’s Gate 3” released. At least PC players can already get started with the new content. Users of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles as well as Mac will have to wait a little longer.
Fans of “Baldur’s Gate 3” Incidentally, there are also some features requested by the community. However, the Belgian studio stated that Patch 7 will not be the last update for the role-playing game.
Developers are working on additional features
Update 7 was released with a massive changelog that measures around 18,000 words. In it, the developers at Larian present some of the new features and improvements that the latest patch brings to “Baldur's Gate 3”.
Among them are about 13 new “bad endings”with custom endings when users play as one of the Origin characters. There is also the Mod Manager, which allows players to browse and download mods in the game. There are also improvements to the split-screen mode.
The team also discussed features that are not included in the update. For example, cross-play between platforms is currently being worked on. However, this will require a lot of work and testing, as was the case with Update 7. A photo mode is also still on the to-do list.
Larian will soon focus on new projects
As the studio writes in the huge changelog, Patch 7 will not be the last update for “Baldur's Gate 3”. There are still a few more updates in store for the role-playing game. In addition to crossplay and the photo mode, these should also include other corrections and improvements.
However, the developers are slowly having to say goodbye to “Baldur's Gate 3”. So it is time for the team to “go back to our cave and hang the armor on the wall while we focus on presenting you our next project.” Larian announced in April that to work on two new projects.
