How good is the new part of Senua's story about psychosis, inner voices and the fight with yourself? The action-adventure game in a Viking setting generally enjoys positive reviews. However, there are also some tests that have problems with Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.

While there is a large and, above all, benevolent consensus regarding the visual presentation, the story is a major point of criticism.

That's what the international testers say

One of the best ratings comes from GamesRadar+, for example. Tester Jasmine Gould-Wilson says about Hellblade 2:

»Harrowing, confrontational and deeply cathartic at the same time, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is a breathtaking masterpiece of video game art.«

Eurogamer also gave it full points. Editor Johnny Chiodini writes:

»Hellblade 2 continues Senua's story with grace, confidence, surprising brutality and thunderous conviction.«

Jessica Cogswell from GameSpot is more in the middle with her test results. She describes the sequel to the 2017 game as follows:

“Hellblade 2 may be the most visually striking Xbox game of all time, but it is ultimately undermined by its emphasis on detail over story and gameplay.”

PC Gamer's Robin Valentine isn't particularly excited about Hellblade 2, writing:

»Despite its larger scope and visual splendor, the sequel does not manage to step out of the shadow of its predecessor. The story is confusing, and Senua herself feels out of place in it.”

Although the international response is very positive, there is criticism of the story and the lack of interesting gameplay mechanics. The first user reviews can be found on Steam, for example; as of now, they are 88 percent positive.
