The vampire survival game spent two years in Early Access, now it shines in new splendor and impressed us in the test with its version 1.0. We summarize the most important and exciting innovations of V Rising in our overview:

The ruins of Mortium

Update 1.0 starts with a completely new area: the Ruins of Mortium. Dracula himself sends his legions of subjects to meet you. In this late game section, there are new enemies, bosses and a previously unfamiliar game mechanic, the so-called rifts.

In these you fight for the new resources “The Stygian Shards” in time-limited sections with varying levels of difficulty. You can use these to enchant weapons, improve your magic and unlock powerful effects.

Boss and area changes

But it's not just new areas that are in the update. Even old zones such as the Cursed Forest or the Dunlay Farmlands shine in new splendor. New zones, enemies and items are waiting for you here.

Even the V-Bloods are not spared from the innovations: The bosses in V-Rising are receiving a lot of supplies and offer you even more challenges.

Caravans

A lot is also happening with the people of Vardoran: They are now sending caravans with important raw materials through the world you can invade. These are different in Level of difficulty and content. So there is something for every bloodsucker.

Of course it would be a shame if these were intercepted by certain bloodthirsty vampires...

Construction options

The building-loving vampires among you will also get their money's worth. There's a flood of new cosmetic content for your base and wardrobe.

Update 1.0 also introduces an extremely practical innovation: moving your castle. Now you look for a free area and use the “Blood Transfer Heart” to move the entire contents of your base for 100 blood essence. This saves long walking distances.

There is an ideal building site in the middle of the map. But if you don't like it, you can now pack up your castle and move it.

Battle

With the Whips you will receive a new weapon type. This specializes in using the enemy Precision and grace to turn off. Ka-tch!

transformation

After defeating the Spider Queen Ungora, you unlock a new spider transformation. This allows you to bury yourself in the ground and avoid enemies and sunlight at the same time – how practical!

The transformation comes in handy when you're avoiding patrols... or when you need to go to the bathroom.

DLC: Legacy of Castlevania

In addition to the changes and innovations, there is also a collaboration with Konami Digital in the form of the DLC Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack. It includes new cosmetic content, such as an Alucard wolf transformation, but also many items for your castle and the undead mount Rowdain's steed.

You will also find an old friend in Vardoran. But we don't want to tell you who made a guest appearance here yet. However, this much can be said: “This character is a master of the whip”. Ka-tch!

You can also get the Premium Pack via Steam at a price of 20 euros.
