Sell chests and earn gold
Hopefully we don't have to explain to you what a treasure chest looks like. However there is different types of chests, which bring you different amounts of gold from gold collectors. The rarer the chest, the higher the loot. It's also important to mention that you can't only find chests during a quest (also called seafaring in the game).
If you travel with your ship across the crystal blue sea, you should look for flocks of birds. If a group of birds circles over a certain place, they may be hiding there Shipwreck under the water surface. You will also find chests in shipwrecks. However, we should warn you about the hungry sharks that like to put pirates like you on their menu in their search for food.
Generally hide Underwater lots of treasures like chests. Often you only notice a small, sparkling light from a distance that indicates prey. The hand telescope proves to be extremely useful here.
If you have found a chest on land, you have to dig out with a shovel, if it is underground. If you dig with several players, it goes much faster. One of your gang's pirates grabs the chest and brings it onto the ship. You cannot use other items or even sprint while carrying it.

If you die while carrying the chest, it will continue to float on the water for some time after your death. Your friends can still recover the treasure before the chest disappears after a short time. With the chests you travel to the next outpost and sell them to one of the many factions.

The amount of gold each chest earns you may vary slightly. The castaway's chest, for example, provides you with between 80 and 120 gold. Additionally, all crew members receive full profits from sales. If you are credited with 1,000 gold for a captain's chest, the same number of thalers will go to each pirate's account.
Useful tip: You can Hide chests on your ship, so that potential robbers don't get to your prey so quickly. You should also turn off the lights below deck. Try hiding the chest under or in front of the ship's steering wheel. They are hardly noticeable even under stairs.
Find and sell bounty skulls
While you can find chests anywhere, bounty skulls require you to do a little more. These items are available in several versions, they also stand out because of their shiny gold color. Her shining aura is also hard to miss.
If you want to find skulls, you have to complete a bounty voyage. Your targets here can be skeleton captains or skeleton teams. You have to kill the captains so that they drop one of the following bounty skulls:

Which skull you receive depends on the quest and the goal. As the name suggests, you can only get the Skeleton Fort Skulls in forts that you can discover by chance. This is Fortresses of Skeletons, who will attack you here in droves. If you survive, you'll get some great loot.
Like the chests, hide skulls on the ship before taking them to the next outpost handed over to the Order of Souls. Of course, you will receive additional gold as a reward.
Catch and sell animals
If you want to earn even more gold, you can Catch animals and hand them over to the trading association. You will encounter most of them on islands, where all you have to do is lock them in a cage. You can calm the frightened chickens, pigs or snakes with music. Just try it!
While chickens and pigs won't attack you, snakes will immediately go on the offensive if you get close. You can curb this aggressiveness with music.

Different species of these animals are usually sought on the Handelsbund sea trips. There is, for example white, red or striped chickens. These vary in rarity and provide you with specified amounts of gold.

In addition to these creatures, there are other animals such as bats that live in caves or parrots that you cannot interact with. Other creatures such as sharks or the huge octopus are hostile to you and can be killed.
