Apple tends to pick one notably new color for the iPhone as a mid-cycle refresh, but the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to launch in a new gray this time around. Here’s what it might look like.

Overall, the iPhone 15 lineup is expected to see one color loss as Apple will no longer include a gold version of any of the models.Other than that, the Pro models will still get more serious finishes, and maybe the regular iPhone 15 will get more vibrant and trendy colors.

So, according to the latest rumors, the iPhone 15 Pro will be available in Navy Blue, Space Black, Silver, and Natural Titanium Gray. There were brief rumors about a dark red iPhone 15 Pro, but those seem to be gone.

None of this is certain, of course, and can’t be until Tim Cook announces “our best iPhones,” but numerous and reliable sources claim it.

However, of all of them, natural titanium gray is the most important, both because of the material and because of the color. So far, Apple has offered natural silver or Space Black titanium for the Apple Watch Series 7, though the Apple Watch Ultra also comes in natural titanium.

Therefore, bringing this to the iPhone is a big change for Apple.Compared to the Apple Watch, the iPhone is a fairly large device, and back in the 1990s, Apple had problems using stuff in the PowerBook. The problem was not the titanium, but the paint and dye.

Presumably, after many years, these problems were eliminated. At the time, painted titanium tended to flake and wear very easily. This may be why Apple prefers to only offer titanium in what is called natural color, which is presumably without paint.

It will be interesting to see how this titanium color fares, especially since it appears to have replaced gold.

However, even Apple can’t do everything in every color it wants. And while Tim Cook has been CEO for more than a decade, he initially proved his worth at Apple by brilliantly understanding the logistics of producing a range of products.

In addition to color options, the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to switch to USB-C for charging and see a speed boost thanks to the switch to the new A17 processor. As always, there will be improvements to the camera, but this time the iPhone 15 Pro Max will get the long-rumored periscope lens for a significantly larger zoom.
