The new Head of Business Development at the Wiesbaden games and software studio Weltenbauer (Construction simulator) is called Martin Schneider.
Around 100 employees work at Weltenbauer Software Entwicklung GmbH in Wiesbaden: In the heart of the Hessian capital, not only successful games like this are created Construction simulator (Construction Simulator) for PC, console and tablet, but also 'serious' applications for industry – such as product configurators, visualizations and renderings. Both pillars benefit from each other through the internal transfer of know-how.
Martin Schneider has been brand new to the Weltenbauer team for a few days in his new role as Head of Business Development. Schneider's career began exactly 30 years ago as Assistant Sales Director at the Frankfurt branch of the Japanese video game giant Konami (Metal Gear Solid, Yu-Gi-Oh!), where he was initially promoted to European Marketing and PR Director and later to General Manager EMEA. In October 2021, he moved to the Norwegian Embracer subsidiary Misc Games (Ships at Sea).
Weltenbauer managing director Christian Rathemacher: “With his 30 years of professional experience, Martin is a valuable addition to our industrial team. Together we world builders want to take a good step forward in this area and continue to grow even in these challenging times. Martin will help us develop clear structures and processes that can withstand and support this growth. We are pleased about Martin’s start and welcome him to the Weltenbauer family.”
Martin Schneider, Head of Business Development: “When Christian approached me in October last year and suggested a short get-to-know-you meeting, I was both surprised and delighted. Even in our first conversation, which René (co-managing director René Nold, editor's note) also took part in, I was enthusiastic about the role they outlined for me. After our first personal meeting, it was clear to me: I really wanted to be part of the team. I have been working at Weltenbauer with great pleasure since January 15, 2025. The people, the working atmosphere and the exciting tasks impressed me right from the start. I’m really looking forward to working together and thank Christian for his trust.”
Weltenbauer is currently working on a new simulator with the working title 'Habanero' – The Ministry of Economic Affairs is making around €1.94 million available for this purpose as part of the federal games funding. The Düsseldorf publisher Astragon Entertainment – which also markets the construction simulator – holds a 25% stake in the company.
