Culture news After the Superman film, Warner moves on and formalizes the release of another film with this House of the Dragon star
Expect to see a few more superheroes with capes: in any case, after Superman Legacy, there will be Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow. And we finally have more concrete information about it.
Visitors from elsewhere
We've been talking about it for a while now, but the brand new DC Universe established by Peter Safran and James Gunn is starting to seriously refine itself. Superman Legacy will therefore be the first stone of this building and it will be laid July 9, 2025 : recently, we had a first image to sink our teeth into, showing David Corenswet preparing (quietly) to save Metropolis. We remind you that the feature film will be directed by Gunn himself and inevitably, all eyes are on him, since he will probably set the tone for the rest of the extended universe.
So know that the following year, it is Supergirl who will be talked about with another feature film, called Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The Kryptonian will arrive in cinemas June 26, 2026 to be precise, at least in the United States: as usual, in France, we should have it a little in advance… i.e. on Wednesday June 24.
An actress, a director… but also a date for a first appearance
Besides, we finally have more official information on this subject: the film directed by Craig Gillespie (Me, Tonya or Cruella) and will star Craig Gillespie. The latter should necessarily mean something to you since it is Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon (the prequel series to Game of Thrones), Meg in Upright or Sam in the Reckoning series.

However, the twenty-four-year-old Australian actress will don the Kara Zor-El costume since we will see her for the first time in Superman Legacy, next year. How and why is still a secret, but director Craig Gillespie has in any case promised that he “It's not going to be the Supergirl you're used to.”

Note that “Woman of Tomorrow” is precisely the name of a Supergirl comic series, in which the superheroine is prey to numerous psychological torments – she seriously doubts her legitimacy in the face of Superman and appears generally lost in this world which is not hers – until meeting Ruthye, a young extraterrestrial “seeking revenge”. It's unclear if the film will faithfully adapt the story from these comics, but it's possible. We will see.
