VirtualBox 7.0.16 as a maintenance update corrects some problems

An update to version 7.0.16 is available for VirtualBox. So you jump straight from the 7.0.14 to the .16. According to the release notes, this is a maintenance update. So bug fixes. The previous version 6.1 currently remains at 6.1.50 from January.

But here are the corrections:

  • macOS Host: Fixed App Nap impacting VM performance
  • Linux Host and Guest: Added fixes related to UBSAN warnings discovered on newer Linux distributions
  • Linux Host and Guest: Added ability to prevent kernel modules from loading automatically during system boot by mod_name.disabled=1 is added to the kernel command line
  • Linux Host and Guest: Added initial support for kernel 6.9
  • Linux host and guest: Fix mk_pte warning introduced in kernel 6.6
  • Linux Guest Extensions: Added initial support for kernel 6.8
  • Windows Guest Extensions: General improvements introduced in the graphics area
