Available maintenance release of Firefox 127.0.2, which eliminated Problems with YouTube video playback freezing when changing the position in the stream. The problem is caused by erroneous formation of the VP9 stream on the YouTube side and manifests itself, among other things, for VP9 videos with a quality higher than 1080p.
The stream sent to YouTube does not ensure a constant increase in the time stamps of incoming video fragments, which leads to the appearance of fragments that overlap each other in time (for example, a fragment arrives with the start and end marks “124416000, 125126000″, and is followed by a fragment with the marks ” 125125000, 131382000″, starting before the previous fragment ends). Due to this mismatch of labels in the stream, Firefox cannot correctly calculate the start time of the next fragment and skips similar fragments, not adding them to the buffer and waiting for them to arrive for playback, while YouTube considers the fragments to have been successfully received by the other party.
Also fixed errorwhich on the Windows platform caused the private mode icon to be displayed in the taskbar and private Firefox windows to be shown in separate groups when the browser.privateWindowSeparation.enabled parameter was set to false (after the fix, private and regular windows were displayed in one group on the taskbar).
