Crazy Taxi is a game that marked an entire generation. It must be said that the SEGA title lived up to its name devilishly. The idea was to drop customers off here and there while driving like crazy to meet the time limit. But now, Crazy Taxi, the first of its name, is now more than 20 years old and the few attempts at revival have not really been successful. And yet Sega persists and intends to offer us a new Crazy Taxi, and an ambitious one at that. The reboot of the saga will be placed under the sign of AAA and game service. This is in fact what Takaya Segawa, the president of Sega Sapporo, explained in an interview with The Japan Times: “It is modeled after AAA live service games such as Fortnite. There are plans for live events, collaborations and customization.” We didn't see that one coming!
Bad news for Skull and Bones: Ubisoft's video game is already doing worse than Sea of Thieves in this territory
Skull and Bones is far from unanimous. At home, we gave it a 15 out of 20, hailing an adventure that is certainly laborious at the start but which offers a really well-worked endgame. What is certain is that Skull and Bones is not the catastrophe that some expected, without however meeting the promise of the promised AAAA, especially if we look at the Metascore. As a result, this is of course reflected in the game's sales. Last week's UK sales figures are out and Skull and Bones is only fourth, behind Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Hogwarts Legacy and EA Sports FC 24. According to Christopher Dring of GamesIndustry, the launch of Skull and Bones is even a quarter of that of Sea of Thieves, another major multiplayer pirate game. Be careful though, the comparison needs to be nuanced. We're only talking about physical releases here and the demat market has become more and more important over time since the release of Sea of Thieves.

On X (formerly Twitter), a game is making a lot of noise. And for good reason, it offers a fairly explosive mix of genres: a game set in the Middle Ages but with firearms and large SUVs. This game is Kingmakers. And his taste for mixtures doesn't stop there. The title from Road Redemption and tinyBuild is a sandbox game mixing third-person action and real-time strategy phases. Obviously, Kingmakers has everything to intrigue. Especially since it will be possible to enjoy this funny experience with friends. The title will in fact be playable up to 4 in cooperation. If it is making a big splash today, players' interest will have to persist over time for Kingmakers to be able to benefit from it. So, this Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase?
Today was a 23-minute Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase to present the games published and developed by Nintendo partners coming to the Switch during the first half of 2024. We of course had the right to a whole bunch of games, like Unicorn Overlord, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI V: VENGEANCE or even Endless Ocean Luminous. It was also an opportunity to confirm persistent rumors about the arrival of first-party Xbox games on the hybrid console. Of the four mentioned so far, two will of course arrive on Nintendo Switch very soon: Pentiment and Grounded. For the moment, no news from Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves.
