Unexpected and Daring Move: What Marvel’s Recent Decision Means for Fans

After abandoning the name Kang Dynasty for Avengers 5, Marvel Studios would have made another surprising and daring choice for its film. But on the one hand, this is perhaps what will save the feature film.

Avengers 5 is certainly the best illustration of the current mess at Marvel. We've been hearing everything and the opposite about it for months and months. But for once, it's not entirely the fault of the house of superheroes. The legal problems of Jonathan Majors, who was convicted of domestic violence against his ex-partner and sentenced for it, are no longer part of the MCU. And that's a huge worry for the cinematic universe since he was introduced as Kang, one of the next big bads.

An unexpected director for Avengers 5?

Forget Avengers The Kang Dynasty, Disney and Marvel Studios have given up on this title. A decision which is anything but ordinary and which will have big repercussions. By doing this, societies disavow the big bad yet introduced in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. So after the flop of Ant-Man 3, we can say that it doesn't matter since “no one” saw the film. Except that the antagonist also appears in the Loki series on Disney+. A presence which only confirms Marvel's initial plans. But after the Jonathan Majors affair, the big-eared firm has no choice but to backpedal.

For now, Kang seems to have been completely erased from Avengers 5 and the entire MCU. Despite everything, journalist Daniel Richtman persists in asserting that the villain would still be around. If this is the case, a recast would necessarily take place. But according to him, it would not necessarily be the main villain to the extent that he could share the poster with someone else. Who ? Several choices are possible, but rumor had it that Marvel considered Doctor Doom.

But apparently, the house of superheroes has also made another risky choice for Avengers 5. According to journalist Jeff Sneider, who is rather reliable, Marvel is looking for a director who has never produced a film for the MCU before. A statement that suggests the filmmaker might not even have any experience with superheroes as well. And for such a blockbuster, it would be a big risk… but perhaps a profitable one. Marvel may be hoping to find a gem capable of breathing new life into Avengers 5, and the cinematic universe as a whole. Now, it remains to be seen which Hollywood personality will accept this still shaky project. Your predictions!
