Ubisoft’s Disappointing Open-World Game Deals a Blow to First-Time Buyers

After a long and stormy development, a new open-world game from Ubisoft leaked almost immediately after release. Less than three months later, the price on the PC is now also falling.

Skull and Bones: Save 40 euros now in the Ubisoft store

Skull and Bones could have been the ultimate pirate game. In advance, Ubisoft has announced its largest open world and the first AAAA game talked. Now we know: Skull and Bones is a wreck that has now officially hit the ocean floor.

You can now grab the pirate flop for the PC in the Ubisoft store for a ridiculous price. Instead of the original 59.99 euros, you now have to only pay 29.99 euros. But that is not enough. You can additionally save another 10 euros, if you use the discount coupon “LEGEND24”. This requires a minimum purchase value of 19.99 euros, which is already reached when you purchase Skull and Bones. The offer is valid until May 21st.

Skull and Bones was released on February 13, 2024. So now since the release less than three months have passed. Such a big discount soon after launch is usually an indication that sales are lacking. This is just the right time for patient gamers. The unfortunate first-time buyers can simply drown their sorrows in rum.

What do critics say about Skull and Bones?

Skull and Bones is loved by critics and fans Rated mediocre at best. In our GIGA test it was only enough for 5.9 out of 10 points. What is particularly negative is that there is no story and neither sea battles nor shore excursions are really fun.

Things don't look much better at review aggregator Metacritic. The PC version reaches one there Metascore of 58. The user score is even worse at 3.4 out of 10 points (source: Metacritic).
