Korean startup Fineday has unveiled a keyboard that sends the wearer back in time for decades. She was featured in New Atlas.

According to the source, the novelty is now at the stage of fundraising and presented on Kickstarter. The wireless keyboard is made in the authentic style of the old typewriters that our parents and grandparents worked on. But its most important feature is the very legendary sound of the keys; the device recreates the sound of a typewriter when typing on it.

In wireless mode, the keyboard is powered by two AA batteries, but it can also be wired – then the power is supplied from the computer. The case and keys are made of 6062 aircraft aluminum, the letters and symbols are not printed, but engraved on the buttons.

The developers claim compatibility with all popular devices and operating systems: Windows, macOS, Android, iOS and iPadOS. For use with a smartphone or tablet, the keyboard has a special cutout in which the device can be placed.

There are also other references to the typewriter. For example, the keyboard is equipped with two knobs that simulate a carriage return and paper scrolling: in fact, they adjust the backlight and media volume on the connected device.

The opportunity to plunge into the past is not cheap: at the fundraising stage, they ask for $ 655 for the keyboard, and after the series is released, it will be sold in stores and on order for $ 1,100.
