We’ve previously written about certain details regarding the upcoming Redmi Note 13 smartphones, but now Redmi has officially announced the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, revealing that it now has IP68 dust and water resistance, making it the first Redmi Note series phone to achieve such a rating. Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing, recently wrote a detailed article explaining three key improvements made to achieve the IP68 rating for the Redmi Note 13 Pro+.

These improvements include the following changes:

Structural reinforcement: The phone contains 19 special structural components such as multi-layer screen protector, dual-layer back cover and sealed parts such as SIM card holder and ejector hole.

Internal Strength: Corning Gorilla Victus Glass and reinforced key structures with high-strength aluminum alloy frame, reinforced corners and thicker motherboard. Stainless steel and polymer buffer adhesive improve drop resistance.

Rigorous testing: Redmi Note 13 Pro+ has passed 10 additional sealing tests, including Type-C boards, earphones/speakers and frame components, ensuring 100% IP68 compliance.

Redmi has already confirmed that the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is powered by the Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor built on TSMC’s 4nm process. According to the TENAA listing, the device is expected to come with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. The device may also receive a 5120 mAh battery with support for 120 W fast charging.
