It has long been known that much of the action in Star Wars Outlaws takes place on the expansive planetary surfaces of Tatooine, Kijimi and Toshara. So far, there has been a bigger question mark surrounding space exploration.

How freely are we allowed to move in space? What activities can we do there? We have answers to these questions thanks to a new preview of the magazine Game Informer Now finally answers and so let's get to the point without further ado.

Great freedom, but still there are limits

We clarify the most important question directly: Yes, we will be able to fly through space relatively freely on board our spaceship Trailblazer. But there is, unsurprisingly, a limit to which we can fly before the game intervenes and initiates automatic hyperspace flight to the next system.

There is one around the planets tightly defined orbit, which can also be researched. So we lift off from the planet's surface and rush into space. There should be all sorts of secrets and unique places to discover there.

These also include Space stations, which accommodate not only dealers but also clients. Only when we explore space on our own do we come across all the side quests.

There is also fighting in space and, according to the preview linked above, on two different scales. On the one hand, we can expect dogfights in which we face our opponents up close. On the other hand, it should Space battles of epic proportions give.

A large part of what happens outside the planets takes place on board our spacecraft. The Trailblazer was therefore designed in close collaboration between Ubisoft and Lucasfilm so that it visually fits into the usual Star Wars universe and does not feel like a foreign body.

The control should be as intuitive as possible. According to creative director Julian Gerighty, they want space travel make it as accessible, entertaining and action-packed as possible.

The fact that we don't have to climb any of the infamous Ubisoft towers in the open world – over and over again – should help us have an entertaining time in Star Wars Outlaws. The developers have now confirmed this.

We also discovered further details in the recently shown trailer that, in our opinion, should make the Star Wars adventure even more exciting. We have linked our analysis in the box above.
