The Unanimous Decision of Dragon Ball Fans: This Character Deserves the Same Treatment as Piccolo in the New Film

In the movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Gohan and Piccolo were really in the spotlight. Each obtained a new, more powerful form and they were both really central to the plot. A treatment long requested by fans of Toriyama's license, rather frustrated to see certain characters regularly put aside for the benefit of Goku and Vegeta. But today, he's another character that readers would like to see back in the spotlight.

From first to second

If Ten Shin Han is very appreciated by fans, it is because readers know him since Goku's childhood. Indeed, he is seen for the first time during the 22nd Tenkaichi Budôkai alongside his lifelong friend, Chaozu. So students of the crane school, they were antagonists, with Ten Shin Han even managing to defeat the main hero. After that, the character regularly returned throughout the arcs, repentant and friends with the Z-team. While he is undeniably a character loved by the fan base, he is often relegated to the background of Dragon Ball adventures.

If he had been able to shine during the confrontation against Vegeta and Nappa, he remained far from the fights during the Frieza saga. Making a flash appearance when the cyborgs arrive, C-17 inflicts an equally rapid defeat on him, forcing him to retreat to find Chaozu. He still shines during the following arc, where, following Piccolo's defeat, he manages to hold back Cell, allowing C-16 and C-18 to flee, then passing close to death, but saved at the last moment by Son Goku. During the Cell Game, he faces a Cell Jr. like his sidekicks, but is quickly overwhelmed. During the Buu arc, he witnesses the latter's fight with Goku, after he has absorbed Gotenks, and is swept away with a simple kick. He is one of the many victims of Majinduring the destruction of Earth, but is ultimately resurrected following a wish to the Dragon Balls of Namek.

A comeback

From Dragon Ball Super, the character of Ten Shin Han returned to the forefront. Although a simple spectator of the confrontation between Goku and Beerus during the arrival of the God of Destruction, he will be much more highlighted during the arc of Frieza's resurrection, where he eliminates dozens of the tyrant's soldiers using a simple Kikohô. Sidelined during the fight between universes 6 and 7, as well as during the Black Goku arc, Ten Shin han returns in force during the Tournament of Power, where he is chosen as a fighter, making one of the most powerful characters in the universe.

More discreet in Dragon Ball GT, he still makes a few quick appearances, but is no longer at the center of events. Ten Shin Han has had his ups and downs, so fans knew him as a legendary opponent, even surpassing Goku, but also as a sidekick relegated to the background. Piccolo's sudden renewed importance comforts aficionados of the descendant of the Three Eyes Tribe in his return, no longer as a foil, but as an important character.
