A cult film causing controversy

THE Titanicit is a British liner which sank in 1912, but it is also a cult film from 1997 which propelled Kate Winslet And Leonardo DiCaprio on the front of the stage. The feature film of James Cameron tells the fictional story of two passengers of the RMS Titanic : Pinka first-class young woman stifled by the constraints linked to her social status, and Jack, a penniless young artist who barely manages to find a place in third class. After a somewhat eventful meeting, the two young people will experience an intense love story, although cut short by the sinking of the boat.

Even if you've never seen Titanic, it's almost impossible for you to have missed its most famous scenes, several of them being the origins of memes that have been making the rounds on the web for years. Among them, we obviously find the sulfurous sequence where Pink ask Jack to draw her naked, but also a much more tragic scene where the liner is sinking and most of the passengers are either in lifeboats or floating on debris, like Jack And Pink who share the famous wooden door at the origin of many controversies…

Secrets of the door soon revealed

But “share” is a big word, since according to Jackthe door could only support the weight of one person, and that is Pink who survived thanks to her. However, even though we were able to see the door flip when the two characters tried to climb on it, many fans believe that Jack And Pink could have survived doing things differently. Fans of Titanic of James Cameron are fascinated by this door, and there are theories about it all over the Internet. Moreover, a certain number of these hypotheses could soon be proven, since the original door from the film was sold in an auction a few days ago.

The famous door sold on the Heritage Auctions website.

This door sold for the price of $718,750 (in other words enough to run ChatGPT for a day) on the site Heritage Auctionsand its new owner could well make people happy by testing all possible and imaginable theories to find out whether or not, Jack could have fit on that damn piece of wood. Even if James Cameron partially answered the question during his experiments on National Geographic, the community still has some questions on this subject. Who knows, maybe the person who bought the Rose chiffon dress will decide to join forces with the holder of the door to carry out tests in real conditions… In any case, if you ever want to see Titanic and the famous door scene, please note that the film is currently available on Disney+ !
