Many fans who regularly watch the extended version of the three feature films believe that this scene should have remained in the version released in theaters at the time. This is a scene in The Two Towers that occurs precisely at 2 hours and 18 minutes. It is a flashback where it is possible to see the two brothers: Faramir and Boromir celebrating their victory after a fierce battle, before they are joined by their father Denethor. The latter clearly asks his favorite son to seize the Ring in order to help their people.
Why is this scene important? This is the only time we see the two brothers together in all three films.. We also understand that possessing the One Ring was a duty, not an act of greed. This scene also allows us to better understand the relationship between the two brothers and their father. Denethor despises Faramir, but gives great responsibility to Boromir.
