The Skywalker saga ended with Star Wars: Episode 9, but the story continues again: Daisy Ridley returns as Rey for a new moviewhich is directed by director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel).
It is currently not known when the Rey film will be released in cinemas, as The Mandalorian & Grogu will be released in 2026. What is at least certain is that Daisy Ridley will return definitely not episode 10 becomes.
No, the Rey movie won't be Star Wars: Episode 10
Previously, rumors and speculations were doing the rounds that the Rey film might be based on a title like Episode 10: A New Beginning
hears. But Jordan Maison contradicts this X (formerly) Twitter explicit. Maison works for the official Star Wars site starwars.com and can categorically exclude
that the film is even referred to as Episode 10 in any way.

But this is only somewhat surprising, as Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy revealed that Rey's solo adventure a kind New beginning for Star Wars
represent should. It would probably be counterproductive to market the film as a continuation of a nine-part series – especially since Episode 9 is referred to as the end of the Skywalker saga anyway.
Maison can confirm that Daisy Ridley's (quite lucrative) return to the Star Wars universe is currently under the working title New Jedi Order
arises. What final name will appear on the cinema poster remains to be seen.
According to initial plot details, Rey is actually supposed to be after the events of Episode 9 create a new Jedi Order. But that initially represents the basis of the plot and what happens next remains unclear at the moment.
What else is happening with Star Wars right now?
The Mandalorian & Grogu directed by Jon Favreau will be released in 2026, while James Mangold and Dave Filoni are also working on their own Star Wars films. Taika Waititi and Shawn Levy's planned projects will probably take a while longer to arrive.
