The biggest Netflix series of the year 2024 is finally here and is packing some serious punches for its launch on the platform. It's shaping up to be pretty epic and some fans are already loving it.
The new Netflix releases of the week are undeniably richer than those of Prime Video and Disney+. Several films and documentaries are expected with the Belle and Sébastien trilogy, She Said or even season 6 of Formula 1: Pilots of their destiny. Programs which will interest certain subscribers, but which remain minor compared to what we find in the category of television shows. A highly anticipated series is finally arriving and the company with the red N made it known a few years ago with a very explosive final trailer. The expected future hit?

It's time for deliverance, or nightmare, for fans of Avatar: The Airbender. The live-action adaptation was uploaded to Netflix this Thursday, February 22 at 9:01 a.m. And yes, all eight episodes are available, so you can watch it all in one sitting without waiting for more every week.
Before the big day, the SVOD giant obviously pushed its project one last time with a final trailer. And the least we can say is that the means seem to have been put into creating big action scenes. Sequences where the elements (water, earth, fire, air) characteristic of the original are unleashed on the screen. On the other hand, with YouTube compression, it is difficult to form a clear opinion on the quality of the special effects. But hey, as recalled, the final version is currently on Netflix, so subscribers can judge this aspect for themselves.
Should we fear this adaptation? For now, the first reviews of Avatar Netflix are very positive and we have the impression of seeing the same departure as with the live-action series One Piece. “The first episode of Avatar The Last Airbender is fantastic! From the opening scene, we realize that it is much better than the 2010 film. The fights are superb, but it is the actors who stand out. These young people are Team Avatar. “The first episode of Avatar Netflix is pretty amazing. It's more dramatic, mature, and violent than the original. The most interesting thing is the things they add to flesh out and enrich the story. A great start” (via Joshua Yehl of IGN US). Of course, there can also be divergent opinions, and this is already the case. Another editor from IGN US believes, for example, that these first episodes are rather very disappointing. A mixed result which can be explained, according to him, by poor writing, an overabundance of explanations and a “terrible” pace. Flaws which are far from insignificant all the same.

The Avatar Netflix series is responsible for adapting the famous anime into live action and therefore sticks to the scenario already known to fans. Consequently, the story features Aang, an Avatar in the process of learning the elements, who will have to perfectly master his techniques to restore the balance of the world. A big mission for a young child. Good viewing if you want to give it a try!
