The Long-Awaited Announcement: A Shocking Turn of Events!

After two long years of waiting, Ubisoft has finally released a first trailer for Assassin's Creed Shadows which should excite fans who dreamed of the game.

It was a long-time dream for lovers of the license, it will finally come true. During Ubisoft Forward 2022, the publisher announced an episode in Japan under the name Assassin's Creed Red. One of the projects in the long list of titles under development which reflect a real desire to capitalize on the flagship license. Since then, the game has remained in the shadow of other closer projects, including a certain AC Mirage released last year. It's finally its time to shine and Ubisoft is starting to officially make presentations for what will therefore be called Assassin's Creed Shadows.

First trailer for Assassin's Creed Shadows

After two years of waiting, it was the big day. Ubisoft invited players to discover a little appetizer of the famous Assassin's Creed taking place in feudal Japan. The French publisher had announced the color: there would be no gameplay or in-game images, simply the famous CGI trailer which never fails to make your mouth water. If this is the first time that the publisher has officially communicated about Assassin's Creed Shadows, we already knew some initial details thanks to information from the well-informed Tom Henderson. This time it's confirmed, this particularly anticipated episode will follow two protagonists as Japan prepares to experience a new era, the appearance of which we discovered before its time.

On the one hand Naoe, a shinobi from Iga Province in search of revenge. On the other, Yasuke the legendary samurai and former slave. This first trailer allows us to see this duo with linked destinies in action and to learn a little more about their history. Both will have their own playstyles (you can choose who to take for each mission obviously), progression paths, skills, weapon options and statistics. Naturally the shinobi will master stealth with infiltration mechanics that we are promised are refined (light, noise, shadows and use of the environment), when her comrade will distinguish himself by his prowess in combat, for a more brutal approach .

This too was revealed before its time but this time it's official: Assassin's Creed Shadows will be released soon.th November 15, 2024 on PS5, Xbox Series and PC. As for the gameplay, we will officially have to wait for the Ubisoft Forward which will be held on June 10, 2024, at a time not yet specified.

An even more dynamic open world

In parallel with this first trailer for Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft also revealed some details on the gameplay of the game. The French publisher thus promises a vast open world which will take full advantage of the latest version of its in-house graphics engine, Anvil, with “a variety of landscapes changing with the seasons and unpredictable weather conditions”. From fortified towns to bucolic landscapes and sanctuaries, exploring this feudal Japan promises to be very exotic, on paper.

It will then be possible to train your new allies who will have special skills so that they can lend you a hand during missions. It was leaked and it's also confirmed, players will be able to create their own lair and fully customize it, whether it's the decorations or the accessories.
