New display glass will probably only come with the iPhone 17
How MacRumors reported the leaker, who is networked in supply chains Instant Digital learned that Apple plans to add a “super-hard anti-reflective layer” to the outer glass of the iPhone 17.
This advanced layer will also protect the device from scratches, more than ever before on an Apple phone, according to the leaker.
However, there is not enough time to integrate the new layer into the iPhone 16 series. That's why the new glass is not expected until the iPhone 17 in 2025.

A first test in January confirmed that the Gorilla Glass Armor of the Galaxy S24 Ultra has very good scratch resistance in everyday life. Fingernails, coins or even pocket knives cannot harm the material.
However, long-term tests will have to show how the display performs over time.
Apple's Ceramic Shield is also developed by Corning, which made the advanced glass for Samsung.
It stands to reason that the iPhone maker is looking to develop its own solution for its glass, after all, the company has previously invested “a total of $495 million” in Corning to produce Ceramic Shield, according to MacRumors.
Apple is planning some announcements for 2024. In addition to new OLED iPads, the topic of AI will be given a very large stage, that much is certain. Google, of all companies, could help Apple with this. We should get a first foretaste at WWDC 2024, Apple's big developer conference. It usually takes place in June.
