High prices have long been established on the smartphone market, including Google cell phones. The two top models, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, have clearly become more expensive over the past year.
Now, according to a new rumor, the upcoming Pixel 8a is about to be targeted. Google's A series has always represented a very good price-performance ratio.
By the way, this is particularly true for the Nothing Phone 2a we recently tested, which rightly has the “a” in its name with a price of 330 euros.
But back to the Pixel 8a: How expensive could the cell phone be?

Pixel 8a costing over 550 euros?
The starting point of the leak is the reliable author Roland Quandt from Winfuture. He has often been correct with his information in the past.
Accordingly, the price of the Pixel 8a will probably increase significantlyabove the mark of 550 euros, and depending on the storage variant chosen, even over 600 euros.
The pricing should look like this:
- Pixel 8a (128 GB): 570 euros
- Pixel 8a (256 GB): 630 euros
For comparison: The Pixel 7a launched in this country in 2023 with an RRP of just under 510 euros.
Please note that this is preliminary information and the actual price is far from certain.
The Pixel 8a comes in four well-known colors
In addition to the price, the website also wants to know the color palette of the device. The Pixel 8a will come onto the market in four variants:
- Obsidian (Black)
- Porcelain (beige)
- Bay (light blue)
- Mint (light green)

The inside of the smartphone also uses the great role models. The Tensor G3 chip is used, which made its debut in the Pixel 8 series.
The Exynos-based chip is supported by 8.0 GB of RAM. On the back we will probably see two cameras again, which are most likely similar to the Pixel 8 – probably with small technical drawbacks.
In contrast to the Pixel 7a, the upcoming mid-range smartphone from Google will be significantly rounder and thus adapt to the new design language.
It is not yet clear when exactly the Pixel 8a will come onto the market. As with the final cell phone data, we will probably have to wait for the Google I/O conference, which is expected to take place in May.
