PixelHeart And Chipsonsteroids (developers of NeoTris) are happy to announce their new project: GladDeath !
This action-platformer is inspired by the gameplay of Ghosts 'n Goblins and Magician Lord, with an artistic direction and humor close to Metal Slug. GladDeath will not only test your patience, but it will also push the limits of NeoGeo AES !

To help finance the project, on May 6 we launched a crowdfunding campaign on the platform. Kickstarter which was validated in less than 3 hours. The game is in its final phase of development and we want to leave nothing to chance in order to offer the best possible version. This financing campaign, which will end on June 5, will allow us to finalize the game on Neo Geo AES/MVS, Dreamcast, Steam, Next Gen Console and to ensure the physical production of the Retrogaming editions offered in the kickstarter.
In a distant kingdom in a land of legend, a mysterious plague of unknown origin has quickly infected the population. Nicknamed the “Red Death,” there is no doubt about the evil nature of the phenomenon: the dead begin to rise from their graves, and demonic incarnations begin to appear. In a few months, the dead form an evil army commanded by the dark lords. Villages and towns begin to be ravaged, the demonic legions growing with each victory. Trying to resist the repeated and tireless assaults of the hordes of monsters, day and night, summer and winter, the last armies of exhausted men end up collapsing.
As the scourge continued its relentless invasion, strength left the hearts of men and the few survivors gathered together, occasionally populating a walled city in a remote region. While all hope of reconquering a better world seemed vain, the king of his lands decided in a last hope to use an evil relic to ward off evil with evil. This artifact gives the power to whoever uses it to summon a mysterious black knight: GladMort!!! Endowed with supernatural strength and questionable charisma, he is capable of invoking dark magic and wielding ancestral weapons. The fate of humanity is now in the hands of our anti-hero…

Play as GladMort: a tough black knight who fights demonic forces… Does he want to save humanity or just have fun?
Make your way through 5 levels and kick the butts of different enemies that will be specific to their environment. Use your double jump to dodge enemies, traps or to reach certain platforms.
Like in Ghost'n Goblins, you can only be hit twice before losing a life. The first time, you lose your armor but you can continue to fight the forces of evil in SLIP! (Yes like in Ghost'n Goblins). On the other hand, get hit again and you will lose your life miserably.
Losing a life takes you back to the start of the level, or to the checkpoint…if you reached it. Watch out for “Game Over”… But don’t worry, you can recover your armor thanks to the treasures found in the levels; keep your eyes open!
If you already have your armor, you will have the chance to find a new weapon in these chests! So learn to master the different weapons that you find on your path: throwing axes, spears, flails, etc. Each of them will allow you to remove rust from faces in a different way. You can keep them in an inventory and use the one that seems best suited to the enemies you face. You will be able to find powerful special items to help you on your journey…
