A long-standing request

It is on his X account (formerly Twitter) that BenDavid Grabinsky shared his dissatisfaction with the first season of fallout. If he does not criticize the series itself, it’s especially its mode of distribution that makes it tick. In fact, the release of a full season at once is frequently implemented by streaming platforms, and this would harm the projects more than anything else.

Grabinsky asserts, at the same time, that this is also what happened to his animated series, even after asking multiple times for more segmented output. “I asked for two episodes a week, over and over again”, he explains, recounting how Netflix turned a deaf ear to his pleas. The platform is well known for its block broadcasts, but knows how to opt for hybrid releases, such as for Bridgertonwhich is released in two parts.

Netflix, hype breaker

This one-time broadcast, also called “Binge-Model“, is regularly criticized and Netflix is also often singled outas with the release of the adaptation of part 6 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. In addition, and although it is nice to be able to enjoy all the episodes at the same time, the binge-model seems to have largely stifled the enthusiasm around the anime. While the manga is known for its various original fights and enemies, “the release of the Stone Ocean anime transformed its once-memorable villains and their powers into an amalgamation of forgettable types” according to Isaïe Colbert, editor for Kotaku.

Previous seasons of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure enjoyed a weekly outing, generating discussions and theories among fans, amid the hype surrounding the following week's episode. A treatment that Stone Ocean almost never experienced before its denouement. Weekly outings appear much more significant, whether series, anime or manga chapters. Regarding falloutthe series is available since April 10 on Amazon Prime Video.
