If the universe of One Piece is also rich and complex, that's because it's full of stories and information from all over the world. If they all participate in creating coherence in the world created by Eiichiro Oda, some do not find a place within the story itself. Therefore, these can be briefly transcribed by the author in the “SBS”, pages of questions and answers between the latter and the readers between the chapters, while others are so long and provided that they need to be fully explored in the pages of a novel. If this has already happened for certain secondary characters, this time it will be the case for one of the main characters of the work!

Discover One Piece on DNA

Roronoa Zoro, the pirate hunter

If the exploration of the past of the characters of One Piece is often an opportunity to witness some of the most striking moments of the work, certain stories have, according to Eiichiro Oda, no particular interest in being integrated into the main story. This is what happened to the youth of Trafalgar Law after Corazon's death and his meeting with his crew, or the first adventures of Ace and the discovery of his devil fruit. But if until then these were certainly important characters in the work, a new novel to be published will soon tell the beginnings of the legend of the pirate hunter: Roronoa Zoro.

First member of Monkey D. Luffy's crew, he is also his right-hand man and is present since the 2nd chapter of the manga. Although he has accompanied the future Pirate King since the beginning of his adventure, his life before their meeting has never been fully narrated. Only his story within his dojo alongside his friend Kuina and his master, as well as small pieces of information came to outline his past. We only know that he comes from East Blue, more precisely from the village Shimotsuki, founded by a samurai of the same name, far from his homeland of Wa. Zoro is the son of a woman named Tera and Roronoa Arashi, himself a descendant of the village's founder. The novel will therefore focus on his exploits after his departure from the dojo, until his meeting with his future captain.. The opportunity to see Johnny and Yosaku again and discover the origin of his pirate hunter nickname.

Troubled pasts

If the story of Roronoa Zoro's past delights fans, that of other members of Luffy's crew still contains many dark sides. Nami for example, if we saw her living with Nojiko and Belmer in the village of Kokoyashi, had been found baby among the rubble of the Kingdom of Oykot by the latter, without further information on her biological family. Regarding Brook, it is the years before his reconversion as a pirate of Rumbar which remain tinged with mystery. Indeed, the latter was previously chief of the guards of an unknown kingdom.

This One Piece character has been there since the beginning and still remains very mysterious: good news, he will have the right to a novel about his past

But one of the biggest mysteries mainly concerns the captain of the crew: Monkey D. Luffy. Indeed, the latter is the son of Dragon, leader of the Revolutionary Army and enemy number 1 of the Government and the Navy, as well as of an unknown mother. If Eiichiro Oda explained that he did not intend to present the latter because it would not add anything to the story, the origins of the man everyone knows was born under a lucky star are vague. We will undoubtedly learn more during revelations concerning Dragon, but these do not seem to be on the agenda. Many mysteries still litter One Piece, but they are a great place for theory junkies. If no date has yet been communicated concerning Zoro's novel, One Piece continues to make fans dream, especially with chapter 1113 published this Sunday.
