The end of PSVR support is approaching

With the update 2.97 for “Minecraft” Mojang Studios has introduced numerous new features and bug fixes in the PS4 or Bedrock Edition (version 1.21.30).

One of the key new features is the introduction of the experimental feature “Bundles”, which allows players to stack multiple items in a single inventory slot. This feature must be activated when creating a new world, saves space and increases flexibility in inventory management.

Players can create a bundle by using a cord and leather. In the future, this feature may be further optimized as it is still in an experimental phase.

End of PSVR support

There is also bad news for fans of virtual reality experiences: PlayStation VR support will end in March 2025.

Mojang emphasizes that after players receive the update, they will be able to continue using “Minecraft” without PlayStation VR, continue to expand their existing worlds, and access all purchases in the Marketplace.

“However, PlayStation VR can no longer be used with Minecraft as it will no longer be supported in upcoming updates,” said the developer.

PlayStation VR support was introduced in 2020.

Bug fixes and gameplay improvements

The new update to “Minecraft” also fixed numerous bugs and optimized the gameplay. The behavior of villagers has been revised: They now sleep peacefully without making unnecessary noises. Foxes also have more health and a total of 10 hearts, which makes them more robust and long-lived.

In addition, there were adjustments to blocks such as stone walls and the sponge. Both were split into independent instances with adjusted destruction times.

Additionally, the crafting system has been fine-tuned to provide more accurate results. The update also introduces changes to item rarity to ensure cross-platform consistency. Graphical glitches, crashes, and interface issues have also been addressed through bug fixes.

The complete “Minecraft” players can find the changelog for update 2.97 on the official site of the equally creative and crude game.
