Supergiant Games has launched early access forHades 2, only on PC, pending the final version. But the content offered by rogue-lite is already sufficiently dense and high-quality to rush into it without thinking.
For the launch ofHades 2, Supergiant Games has opted for an ultra-cautious approach. First there was a technical test, which interested people had to register in the hope of trying the game in advance. It only lasted a few days (while it could have lasted a month) and, in the process, since May 6, 2024, the studio has offered an early access version ofHades 2.

On the Steam page, we can read the following note: “ This Early Access game may or may not change significantly. If you're not interested in this one in its current state, you might want to wait until it develops further “. Early access, which may represent a barrier to purchasing, allows developers to launch an unfinished version of a game and then develop it. Hades 2 will remain as it is until 2025, warned Supergiant Games, which is working on new features. But you should not trust what is written: the early access ofHades 2 is already very well stocked.
Hades 2 is already very complete, while its real release is not for now
According to Supergiant Games, we are more than six months away from the release of the final version ofHades 2. However, after more than ten hours spent on the game in its current form, it is safe to say that the experience is already complete. Thus, we have not had to deplore a single bug on the horizon (we play it on the Asus Rog Ally, a console PC which is the ideal platform), while the content exceeds expectations.
The scale ofHades 2 is already more extensive than the final version ofHades. We just deplore a few shortcomings here and there. Thus, the characters of Charon and Narcissus display the same portrait when we speak to them. A fault assumed by Supergiant Games, which indicates in an FAQ that there is still a lot of work to be done, including in the artistic field. After three years of production, early access gives it additional time, while allowing the impatient to discover the sequel to one of the best games of recent years. In the same way, the story is not yet over.
Regardless, it would be a shame to deprive yourself of whatHades 2 already offering today under the pretext that it is not finished. For the money he asks for (€28.99, a price which may increase), he is overflowing generous. Frankly, we have seen games in early access in a much more worrying state (Palworld, launched in January, displays, for example, serious technical shortcomings). Supergiant Games has already done a monstrous job and it shows in the experience. There is no deception on the merchandise, and you can go headlong without feeling wronged. As a bonus, in view of the excellence to which it claims Hades 2, we dare not imagine the game in its final state. So to speak, studios must envy Supergiant Games, which offers a lesson in early access.

Those who devoured Hades will not be disoriented by discovering Hades 2. The philosophy – a headlong race against various enemies, but slowed down by repeated failures – is similar, but there are still small developments which give the feeling of witnessing a renewal (including in the environments crossed and the enemies met). We think of the integration of crafts or even the possibility of forging even deeper bonds (by taking baths), without forgetting the new faces and the way in which Mélinoé can gain power. Hades 2 also introduces more open areas, even if they ultimately encourage very little exploration (there is room for improvement on this). These mechanics may evolve over time, but there is a very solid foundation. Finally, visually, Hades 2 is prodigious.
