The creator of Telegram disappointed with Apple. It is because of them that we are waiting longer for the revolution in the communicator

Complaining about Apple and app stores is a daily business in the industry. But it’s also a good opportunity to stick a pin and show off something new …

We are already used to the fact that no one dislikes Big Techs and their approach to colleagues. And despite the fact that mobile application developers are forced to cooperate with both Google and Apple. Because they develop the systems on which their software appears and manage the largest stores within the platform, and in the case of Apple – it can be said that the only one. This cooperation has varied – and discussions about the practices of platform governors are unlikely to stop. Most often when it comes to the infamous percentages that application developers have to give away to store owners. Now, however, Pawel Durov, creator of the Telegram messenger, complains about Apple and their approval process. And for years you have heard that this one is actually not colorful – but you can get through it. Only in this message I see, first of all, marketing, a loud announcement of “revolutionary news” and … a regret that the process continues for stars such as his communicator.

Telegram would already have “revolutionary novelties” if it were not for the fact that Apple still did not allow them

For example, our upcoming update – which is set to revolutionize the way people express themselves in the news – has been stuck in Apple’s “review” for two weeks, with no explanation or any kind of feedback from Apple.

Then Durov goes further – and asks that since one of the 10 most popular applications in the world is treated this way, he doesn’t even want to think how bad it must be among smaller developers. Such without any clout. The handicap of this process comes down to … financial losses that every company incurs as a result.

If Telegram, one of the top 10 apps in the world, is treated like this, you can only imagine the difficulties smaller app developers experience. This is not only demoralizing: it causes direct financial losses to hundreds of thousands of mobile applications around the world.

You could discuss the validity of Durov’s words for hours, but it’s hard for me to relate to the topic, because I have never sent anything to the App Store myself. The subject of mobile applications is close to me and I have talked to many developers who have never complained about the publishing process at Apple – but they said directly that they are trying to properly plan it, so that all the novelties and changes in the software appear as they will write about it earlier in own calendars. Pawel Durov, however, regularly publishes statements, after which his words on the Internet become loud. The topic of accepting applications and fees in stores always arouses a lot of interest, and the Telegram Premium plan has been available for several months. After many years, the creator of the communicator has to give away a large part of the revenues to store operators, so he sees money leaking through his fingers. And now it still has to wait for acceptance, because there is no special treatment …
