In The Blood of Dawnwalker, you don’t necessarily have to complete all farm activities before you can face Brencis. You can enter Greifberg Castle alone, face him with allies, or lure Brencis to a meeting after defeating his boyars. In this guide we will tell you all the ways to the finale.
Visit Brencis directly
You can theoretically defeat Brencis in the prologue or visit him in Greifberg Castle shortly afterwards. To do this, you don’t have to defeat Ambrus, Bakir and Xanthe or complete their farm activities.
This works the fastest over the castle wall at night. Approach Greifberg Castle from Svartrau and use Shadow Step to climb up the wall. Shortly before entering, the game warns you that this is the start of the ending sequence.
Alternatively, the castle has a side entrance northwest of the wayside shrine near Vedera shallows. You can use this both day and night. You have two options for this:
- Georghe, the furious duke: In “Racovitza’s Bandit Camp” in the east of the map there is a bandit camp southeast of the “Birkenwäldchen” wayside shrine. The frenzied Duke has a key to the side entrance to the castle.
- Father Florin’s quest line: Work with him. Then you will find out how you can open the side entrance.
If you enter the castle alone, the final quest starts “The Hunt of a Lone Wolf”. In this case, you will have to deal with Brencis and your boyars alone.
Challenging Brencis with yard activities
The path intended by the game leads about Ambrus, Bakir and Xanthe. Sabotage their court activities, maximize their anger, and then complete the associated boss quests. Once you have eliminated all three boyars, you will achieve maximum notoriety.
Then let a new day begin. After a cutscene, Brencis reports and the quest “A Pact with the Devil” starts. The meeting takes place at night at the red-backed shrike instead of.
During the conversation you can attack Brencis directly. This will also take you to the solo ending without having to go through Greifberg Castle first. Alternatively, you can listen to his offer and make a deal in which you get your family back, but in return you have to betray the Manumites.
Lacra as an ally
If you want to take Lacra with you as an ally, you have to complete her quest series up to “Our Rotten Roots”. Then “billing at midnight” starts.
You can tell Lacra that you are ready to attack Brencis. You then reach the dungeons of Greifberg Castle via the old ruins under Svartrau Fight your way together to the throne room. Lacra supports you in the first part of the boss fight. However, you have to fight the second phase against Brencis alone.
Important: If you haven’t completed Lacra’s optional quest “The Night of Terror” yet, you should definitely do so beforehand. As soon as you start the final attack, all open quests will fail.
Attack with Marat and the Manumites
The second allied route leads over the Jackdaw and the Manumites. To do this, follow the quest series through, among other things, “The Troublemaker” and “Shadows in the Woods”, “Where Loyalty Lives” and the subsequent Marat quests up to “Who is pulling the strings?”
After that you have to allow at least two in-game days (32 time segments) to pass. Then begins the final Manumite attack. You first take an outpost and then reach Greifberg Castle via a secret tunnel.
Important: If you haven’t completed Marat’s optional quest “Behind the Facade” yet, you should definitely do so beforehand. As soon as you start the final attack, all open quests will fail.
Be sure to save before the final attack
No matter which path you choose: It’s better to create a manual save beforehand. With both Lacra and the Manumites, the game warns you that there is no turning back.
