Also note that training must be directly linked to your players to be effective. Some cards are only Meta in specific circumstances. We will discuss this point later in our guide.

Possible changes : Although the point of our tactics is to take the whole thing as is to obtain the desired result (Meta training), it is possible to modify some elements according to your preferences.

The depth is changeable from 55 to 71, with 71 remaining effective but less since the recent nerfs. The Corners aspect is changeable, from 1 to 3 although we consider 1-2 to be the most effective. In the area is also modifiable, between 5 and 7. Be careful however, as for Corners, the higher the number, the greater the risk of counterattacks.

Update : For a truly more aggressive and offensive game, see our tactics below.

Instructions for 4-2-3-1 formation

Here we list the instructions to place for the different players, according to their position. This element is extremely important in the function of the tactic and its training, don't forget to complete them well, otherwise the whole thing will not work as well. If there is no specific instruction on the position, the instruction remains by default.

  • BU: Axial Position – Behind the defense – Stay in front
  • MOC: Stay ahead
  • MG/MD: In the area
  • MC: Cover center
  • MCG: Cut pass lanes – Stay behind in attack – Cover center
  • MCD: Cover center
  • DG: Overflow
  • DD: Stay behind in attack – Overrun

Possible changes : The MOC could remain by default for all options, for a light defensive return. One of the two MG/MD can stay in front to create a third offensive option.

Meta players for 4-2-3-1 formation on EA FC 24

Without making an extremely exhaustive list, we present here Meta players to play with our tactics on the 4-2-3-1 formation on EA FC 24. Here again, the idea is to be able to compare with your club to Be sure that the tactics presented here will be ideal for you.

On attack

For the role of BU, the choices are very wide because these tactics allow you to play in very varied ways. So, in order to bomb a pivot via crosses, you will need a player with the powerful header style of play and great size. Conversely, if your game is more about construction, a more complete BU will do wonders.

Examples of players in BU : Mbappé, Haaland, Di Natale, Keane, Kerr, Kolo Muani.

Ideally on the wings, players capable of winning defensive duels. This requires, as desired, a high defensive performance or significant physical or even defensive stats. However, do not sacrifice the offensive potential of your formation purely on this criterion.

Examples of MD/MG players : Jairzinho, Vinicius Jr, Saka, Diani, Raphinha, Adeyemi, Jota, Martinelli.

In Midfield

For the MOC position, avoid players with high/high efficiency, the latter will have too much tendency to return to defense. Apart from that, an agile MOC, capable of creating play and provoking to create spaces would be ideal.

Examples of players in MOC: Zico, Best TOTY, Messi Radioactive, Alexia Putellas, Okocha, Cole, Musiala, Nkunku.

The ideal here would be to have a pure MDC, with a medium/high yield. A great physique who will truly be your doorman. The second MDC could be a smaller and more agile midfielder, capable of restarting the game. Better, the second could have a high/high, or even high/medium, output, in order to naturally make him move a little more towards the attack. Thus, we are looking at a complementary duo rather than two purely defensive MDCs. On the other hand, if you get MD/MGs who stay up front, your midfielders will need to be more defensive.

Examples of MDC : Vieira and Gullit, Tonali and Bruno Fernandes, Tchouaméni and Bellingham, Rabiot and Barella.

In defense

Since the fullbacks don't go on offense, honestly, any type of DG/DD will do as long as they are Meta. The defensive performance must be at least to medium on the other hand, while it is not necessary to have a high/medium like on other formations where the DG/DD go on the attack.

For central defenders, the ideal is to choose Lengthy options, with at least one of the two having a tall height (1m90+). A duo with one option a little more powerful and the other smaller and more agile is interesting.

Examples of duets in DC : Kompany and VVD, Maldini and Kalulu RTTK, Varane and Koundé, Saliba and Gvardiol.

More aggressive alternative for 4-2-3-1

In order to come back to score or if you feel that your opponent is a little limited offensively (or if your 11 is ULTRA Meta and much superior to that of the opposing team), you can opt for more aggressive tactics.
