The Aston Martin Vanquish returns with a powerful new 824 horsepower V12 engine

Gamingdeputy reported on May 1 that Aston Martin’s upcoming new GT flagship model will continue to use the legendary car name Vanquish and be equipped with a fully upgraded V12 engine, which has significantly improved power compared to the current DBS model.

It is reported that the Vanquish, which will be officially unveiled in the next few months, will have 824 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, which is an increase of 109 horsepower and 74 pound-feet respectively compared to the standard DBS model. Even compared with the ultimate version of DBS, Vanquish's power output is not inferior, making it Aston Martin's most powerful production model after the Victor and Valkyrie hypercars.

In order to achieve such strong power, Aston Martin has completely improved its iconic twin-turbocharged V12 engine. The official even released a video showing the shocking roar of this engine.

Aston Martin strengthened the cylinder block, redesigned the cylinder head and adjusted the camshaft. It also improved the position of the intake and exhaust ports, relocated the spark plugs, and used more powerful injectors to achieve the “maximum performance”. Good burning”.

Additionally, the turbocharger's response has been improved and runs at higher rpm, improving throttle response. Although the official has not announced the specific displacement of the engine, nor confirmed whether it is still 5.2 liters, it said that this new engine will “achieve unprecedented performance and efficiency”, implying that the overall performance of the Vanquish will significantly exceed that of the DBS.

Gamingdeputy noticed that the company also indirectly confirmed the name of the new car through a meaningful statement – “Everything will be conquered by Vanquish”. This new GT will be one of the first limited edition models to use the upgraded V12 engine. The engine itself will also be hand-built and produced in very small quantities, which also implies that the Vanquish's production volume will be much lower than that of its DBS predecessor.

Aston Martin's technical director Roberto Fedeli said: “The V12 engine has always been a symbol of power and nobility, but also embodies engineering passion and technical prowess. With 824 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, this unparalleled engine The engine marks a dazzling new chapter in the Aston Martin V12 era.”

Previously, Aston Martin has expressed its intention to build the flagship GT model into a true supercar to further differentiate it from the V8-powered Vantage and DB12 models. Spy photos of Vanquish during testing show that the new car is based on the DB12, but has undergone extensive visual modifications to match its strong power: huge vents on the hood are used to cool the 12-cylinder engine, and the front grille is significantly wider. The thicker lower spoiler hints at stronger downforce performance. A larger diffuser is used at the rear of the car to improve aerodynamic performance, and the bilateral exhaust layout has been replaced with four tailpipes, highlighting the identity of its V12 engine.

Along with the increase in power, the chassis will also undergo a comprehensive upgrade. Drawing on the settings of the DBS 770 Ultimate, the shock absorbers will be upgraded and front and rear rigidity will be increased to improve cornering performance and give this supercar stronger track prowess.

Although the Vanquish shares a basic body structure with the DB12 and may even use part of the same platform, Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichmann previously told Autocar magazine that the Vanquish will be “completely different” from the DB12 and the new Vantage.

Aston Martin is expected to officially release the Vanquish model this summer, possibly at Monterey Car Week, where they have previously released the Valhalla supercar, DBR22 speed version and Valkyrie Spider convertible.
