The announcement of Resident Evil 9 would be close, with a release planned for early 2025 | Xbox

For many months now, insider Dusk Golem has been disseminating details about Resident Evil 9, a project which is not yet official, but some information about which has been revealed by the insider, who has always been reliable. Today, it is back, notably with some details on the announcement and the release period.

While Dusk Golem had previously confided that a postponement of Resident Evil 9 was on the table, he now claims that it would have been avoided and that the title should be announced very soon and released in January 2025.

This would be a targeted period, but it cannot guarantee that no changes will occur. Thus, Resident Evil 9 would be entitled to a production cycle of 7 years, to the extent that its development would have started in early 2018, to become what Resident Evil 8 was to be.

Indeed, the insider confides that the development of Village would have started as Resident Evil 8, since it would have become a spin-off, before finally becoming Resident Evil 8 again. Thus, the other project, which would have been developed at the same time, would have become Resident Evil 9 by default.

As he has been saying for several years, he recalls that according to his information, Capcom would launch the development of Resident Evil in batches, in order to be able to release them on an “almost annual” basis. So in 2018, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 8, and Resident Evil 9 would all have been in production at the same time.

Finally, Dusk Golem adds that recently, Capcom would have launched another batch of Resident Evil games into production, at the beginning of 2023. No less than 5 titles would be in development. Regarding Resident Evil 9, fans should have something to be excited about, since it would benefit from the series' longer development time, but also the bigger budget.

Let us also remember that the title would take an Open World turn. All this information obviously remains to be taken with a grain of salt, but it is necessary to remember that Dusk Golem has already revealed a lot of information in advance which later turned out to be true.
