A missed appointment

This is the cinematic event not to be missed this month of May. The post-apocalyptic universe of Mad Max is back in theaters with Furiosa, a prequel dedicated to the eponymous character. Directed by George Miller, the creator of the saga, this prequel is carried by Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth. The interpreter of Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will play a role here that is the opposite of the previous films in his career, since he lends his features to the terrible Dr. Dementus, supposed to be the antagonist of this feature film.

But many years before Furiosa, Chris Hemsworth had already wanted to participate in the world of George Miller. The actor thus revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he initially wanted to play the role of Max Rockstansky himself in Fury Road – which ultimately went to Tom Hardy – but couldn't even “get a call or a meeting or anything” . The auditions having taken place well before the advent of the MCU and his role as Thor, the actor felt that he had “not done enough to be able to allow this”.

The best revenge

Chris Hemsworth and George Miller therefore narrowly missed a first date. Which did not prevent the actor from giving up his ambitions, quite the contrary. Shortly after discovering Fury Road, the actor found himself even more determined to one day work with the legendary filmmaker.

I was completely absorbed and caught up in this adventure and this journey. I said to myself “I have to work with this guy, he's a genius. And the rest is history.

After the release of the film, Chris Hemsworth decided to force fate, call his agent and arrange to meet George Miller. As a result, the two men ended up collaborating on Furiosa, which is now due to be released in theaters on May 22. Spectators will therefore finally be able to discover this collaboration in theaters very soon.
