The announced content included, among other things, an extensive balancing patch. After Bandai Namco Games previously only spoke of a spring release, the publisher has now given the update a specific date. The balancing patch updates “Tekken 8” to version 1.04.00 and will be released next Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

Parallel to the reveal of the date, Bandai Namco Games provided the changelog for the next update of “Tekken 8”. This tells us which characters and moves will be adjusted for better balancing.

The changelog provides all the details

Players of characters like Bryan, Jack-8, Panda, Zafina and Kuma, for example, can look forward to buffs. According to the changelog, the developers made improvements to the heat mechanics and selected moves, among other things. This increases the damage dealt. At the same time, selected fighters will be somewhat defused as part of the balancing update.

These include Jun Kazama, Azucena, Devil Jin, Dragunov, Feng and Ling Xiaoyu. According to their own statements, the developers took on various maneuvers and mechanics that were previously a bit too strong and gave players of the characters in question an unfair advantage in combat.

Additionally, the team made corrections to characters like Alisa and Yoshimitsu. The aim here was to ensure more consistent damage and fix the hitbox issues.

The extensive changelog is on the official website ready for viewing and provides you with all the details about the adjustments to the balancing update 1.04.00.

This content will appear in 2024

As the recently published roadmap made clear, the new patch doesn't stop there. Instead, the developers are also working on new content and features. In the summer, a new arena, “Seaside Resort,” will be introduced, which Bandai Namco Games will make available to all users free of charge. The same applies to photo mode.

The photo mode allows you to take snapshots of the ongoing game. You can then individualize your images using different filters such as raindrops on the camera.

It continues in the fall with a new story chapter and features such as the online practice, which Bandai Namco Games has not yet given a release period.

“Tekken 8” was released earlier this year for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Only a short time later, Bandai Namco Games announced that the fighting title above internal expectations sold.
