Depending on whether you just follow the main story or really want to take all the content with you, the adventure in Tales of Arise can easily keep you busy for over 100 hours. We’ll show you how long the campaign lasts, what side activities await you and how much additional content there is in the endgame and DLC.

How long does Tales of Arise last?

How much time you spend in Tales of Arise depends largely on your play style. Those who only concentrate on the story will reach their goal much faster than completionists or players who want to complete every side quest.

  • Main story only: approximately 35-45 hours
  • Story + Side Quests and Activities: approximately 55-70 hours
  • Completists and Achievement Hunters: approximately 90-120 hours

In our playthrough, the credits rolled across the screen after around 56 hours. At this point we had already completed many side missions, fished, cooked and tried out numerous optional activities.

They make up a large part of the game’s duration Fights and especially cutscenes and dialogues out of. There are a lot of optional dialogues in particular and depending on how much the story grabs you or how much you grind, the playing time varies greatly.

Why the playing time fluctuates so much

The sheer length of the campaign only tells part of the story. Several factors can significantly extend your playing time:

  • higher levels of difficulty
  • Grinding for better gear
  • optional bosses
  • extensive side quests
  • Exploring hidden areas
  • Collectibles like the owls
  • Crafting and cooking

Especially JRPG fans who like to discover every detail will quickly lose themselves in the world of Dahna for many additional hours.

Scope in detail

After the end of the main quest you will be between level 50 and 60, but you can continue playing until level 100 and accordingly there are side quests and other endgame content that are hidden behind these level hurdles.

At first you can just concentrate on the story. After the credits there will be a separate score created that places you at the last point before the end of the main story. From here you can tackle any remaining challenges in the game world. Side hustles in Tales of Arise include:
