The Super Mario Bros. movie was a gigantic success in the cinema. After the horrendous film from the 90s with Bob Hobkins in the role of the plumber, Illumination was not only able to convince at the box office. The ratings for the project could, for example in our review of the filmmore than just letting you see it.
Unsurprisingly, Nintendo sees a lot of potential for the future here. Comes sooner or later a film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda to us, which has already caused a lot of conversation. The Super Mario brand can also celebrate a return to the cinema.

When is The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 coming?
In the USA it is on April 3, 2026 the starting signal for the second Mario film from Illumination planned. Comic Book Movie emphasizes that this news was announced on March 10th, known as Mario Day for Nintendo. But that's probably not the end of the all-too-familiar flagpole for the plumber.
Chris Pratt recently commented on the Nintendo cosmos again. The US actor was, despite more or less enthusiastic reactions from the fans, heard in the animated film as Super Mario. While he was promoting a new Garfield film these days, the future of Nintendo on the big screen came up.

“I can't tell you much, but I can say that another Mario movie is coming” Pratt told Total Film. “Thinking about the world of Mario and Nintendo in general makes me excited [und] I think we will see many more stories from this world in the next ten years.“
