The story of the strategy title revolves around a world that threatens to sink into chaos due to a widespread conflict. After millennia of sleep, Vargard Nefershah mobilizes the legions of her dynasty to destroy the Adeptus Mechanicus invaders who have unwittingly settled on her world.

This leads to Magos Dominus Faustinius being summoned across the galaxy to use his hard-earned knowledge to keep the Necrons in check. “The conflict soon becomes a crucible of unexpected importance, attracting external actors that are even stranger and more deadly,” the developers explain.

Two playable factions and two campaigns

One of the special features of “Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2” is the fact that two factions with their own campaigns await you. According to the developers, the two factions are fundamentally different from each other in terms of gameplay, which ensures the corresponding replay value.

To dominate the battlefield, you choose from different units in “Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2”. You then equip them with all kinds of weapons and face your opponents in strategic turn-based battles.

“To succeed, you must master and adapt each faction’s unique skills and playstyles, as well as the diverse fighters available to each side,” reads the official description.

Completely new environmental mechanics are also promised, from which you can gain a strategic advantage. The same applies to the selection and equipment of your units, which you can reassemble before each mission.

Leading creative minds return

With your decisions, you can actively influence the plot and the fate of the world in “Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2”. The well-known author Ben Counter (“Black Library”) provides the necessary suspense. He is returning to work on the story of the sequel.

Composer Guillaume David, who is responsible for the soundtrack of “Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2,” has also already made a name for himself in the “Warhammer 40,000” community.

“Incredible illustrations combined with highly detailed and authentic environments and characters bring the Warhammer 40,000 universe to impressive life,” the developers concluded.

“Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2” is in development for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Publisher Kasedo Games did not announce a release date.
