Steamworld Heist 2 looks back on its gameplay

In 5 minutes of explanations, Image & Form looks back at the specifics of its gameplay Steamworld Heist II. As a reminder, this episode will abandon the dark confines of space to return to more ordinary piracy, that which smells of oceans and bottles of rum.

Like its predecessor, Steamworld Heist 2 will thus be a Strategic RPG turn-based, but with a side view. This originality has a very simple explanation: a large part of its system is based on the possibility of aim with your firearmsin an attempt to bounce your balls and hit enemies behind cover.

Inasmuch as captain of the shipthe player will therefore have the heavy task of managing the fights but also the recruitment of its alliesand even their evolution. A new job system linked to the equipped weapon will indeed appear so that all the characters can specialize in a specific role. THE snipers will be able to take down their opponents at long range with deadly precision, fast, flankers will be perfect for recovering loot on the ground, as for the reapersthey traded their resistance for the possibility of replaying after having defeated an enemy.

We are not going to give you a summary of all the classes presented, but there will obviously be quite a few choices. Especially since to make each character more unique, the skills unlocked during missions will remain active even if you change jobs, which looks particularly pleasant. In particular, we can see a boomer who improved his precision thanks to abilities drawn from the sniper or even a brawl with the speed of movement of the flanker. The grosbills will clearly have their work cut out for them.

On the side of your opponents, again Image & Form announces quite a bit of variety, the Royal Navy will play the defensive strategy card, but you will also be able to come across dronessnipers, turretsor even guards capable of smashing everyone in a straight line. The polar zones will be filled with bags of weak bones, but able to overwhelm you with numbers. In short, the developers have not revealed everything, but the video largely suggests that there will be something to do.

Steamworld Heist 2 will be available August 8, 2024 on PC and all consoles, but at a price that has not yet been announced.
