Starfield: 60FPS for Xbox, Mods & much more

Bethesda Softworks announced the largest update to date for the science fiction role-playing game “Starfield” under version 1.11.33. Highlights of the patch include a 60FPS option for Xbox Series X, a land vehicle and a crisp new difficulty level.

After Bethesda Softworks confirmed a few days ago that the developers are currently working on the largest update to “Starfield” to date, the publisher has now presented it in detail.

The patch upgrades “Starfield” to version 1.11.33 and will be released on May 15, 2024. The update is already available in the Steam beta program. As can be seen from the official changelog, the developers addressed various shortcomings and criticisms.

Including the fact that “Starfield” is only displayed in 30FPS on Xbox consoles. After installing the May update, Performance Mode on the Xbox Series X will target a 60FPS display. “You can now prioritize between graphics and performance while trying to maintain the target frame rate,” said the publisher.

“If you choose a target frame rate of 60 or more, we recommend changing this to Performance. By prioritizing graphics, the highest resolution is maintained while preserving full detail for special effects, lighting and crowds.”

Gameplay modifications and a new difficulty level

If you have already completed the “Starfield” campaign and are looking for a special challenge, then you will find it in the new “Extreme” level. After the May update, this acts as the highest level of difficulty in “Starfield” and, according to official information, will demand a lot from you.

Also new are the gameplay modifications that allow you to customize the gaming experience and tailor it to your needs. Here you can, for example, adjust the weight that your character can carry, make combat easier, access your cargo from anywhere or make combat in space more difficult.

Another point of criticism that the developers are tackling with patch 1.11.33 is the sometimes unnecessarily complicated orientation in the game world or in the cities. After the community has been committed to cards since the launch of “Starfield” in September 2023, these will find their way into the game with the upcoming update.

The maps provide you with an overview of the most important places and features of an area. You can use your own marker to mark places that you want to remember or visit later.

The first land vehicle arrives

As can be seen from the developer video for update 1.11.33, a first land vehicle and further customization options for the spaceships are also finding their way into the game. Just like with your own apartments, it will be possible in the future to revise or individually adapt the interior of your own spaceships.

These include, but are not limited to, changing the position of furniture and other decorative items.

Another innovation concerns the “New Game Plus” mode, in which you can revise your appearance and the characteristics of your character for the next run. Finally, the developers promise adjustments to the camera work within the dialogues and various bug fixes.

The following video provides you with all further details about the new update.
