Star Wars Outlaws: Ubisoft responds to the controversy over the content of the game | Xbox

Star Wars Outlaws is the next big game from Ubisoft. Developed by Massive, the title is highly anticipated and received a new trailer last week, accompanying the launch of pre-orders. As usual, Ubisoft is offering various editions of the title as well as a season pass allowing access to exclusive missions, eliciting live reactions from players and now pushing the firm to react.

Jabba's Gambit mission is optional

It is in particular content linked to Jabba the Hutt which is singled out. In the columns ofIGNa Ubisoft spokesperson spoke on the subject and confirmed that the emblematic character of the franchise and his Cartel will be highlighted for all players, since it is one of the main unions in the game :

To clarify, Jabba the Hutt and the Hutt Cartel are one of the main syndicates in Star Wars Outlaws and will be part of the experience for everyone who purchases the game, regardless of edition.

He then specifies that the “Jabba’s Gambit” mission, exclusive to holders of the season pass and the most expensive editions, is only an optional mission:

The mission 'Jabba's Gambit' is an additional optional mission with the Hutt Cartel, during Kay and Nix's journey through the Outer Rim. This mission will be available to those who purchase the season pass or an edition of the game including the season pass.

It is therefore not a large part of the game that is “blocked” behind the season pass paywall, but an optional mission, as Ubisoft has to offer in its productions.

This justification unfortunately may not convince fans of the franchise, especially since Jabba is one of the most iconic characters in the saga. Although the game seems promising, this new affair tarnishes the picture alongside the obligatory Internet connection to install the physical edition.

Remember that Star Wars Outlaws will be available on August 30 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
