In an interview conducted by GameInformer, the creative minds at Ubisoft Massive went into more detail about the reputation system and gave further details. Accordingly, your reputation in “Star Wars Outlaws” is at the center of the game mechanics and influences your relationship with syndicates such as the Hutt Cartel, the Pike Syndicate, the Crimson Dawn and the Ashiga Clan.

Unsurprisingly, your reputation rises and falls with the actions and decisions you make in the world of Star Wars Outlaws. Depending on their reputation, residents and syndicates react differently to your presence.

The connections to the factions are not permanent

The developers also emphasize that the reputation system enables you to decide for yourself which syndicate you want to work with based on your current goals. The interactions with the factions are transactional in nature and based on your respective goals and missions.

There is no lasting connection to the different groups in “Star Wars Outlaws”. According to Ubisoft Massive, it should also be noted that a positive reputation among the different factions can lead to the difficulty level of missions being lower.

A negative reputation, on the other hand, can lead to aggression from groups and other dangers that make life difficult for you when completing your missions. In addition, a positive reputation and riskier missions give you higher rewards.

Reputation system is intended to promote strategic decisions

Since actions such as criminal or law-abiding activities can influence your reputation and open up completely new possibilities in “Star Wars Outlaws”, the game should regularly present you with strategically important decisions. Another feature used in this area is the search system.

Depending on how many criminal acts you commit, your wanted level increases, which in turn leads to the empire taking increasingly drastic measures against you. In the worst case scenario, you will be confronted with elite Death Trooper units who will hunt you down and try to put a stop to your activities.

“Star Wars Outlaws” will be released on August 30, 2024 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. As is typical for Ubisoft, the open-world title is offered in different versions with exclusive content.
