Star Wars Jedi: Signs of a third part continue to grow

With Star Wars Jedi, EA and Respawn Entertainment have already delivered two excellent single-player action games – and there are now increasing signs that there will be a third part of the series.

Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment will apparently continue the successful Star Wars Jedi series. After Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and the sequel Star Wars Jedi: Survivor were already convincing and were also a commercial success, part 3 of the single-player action series is now apparently on the agenda; This is what a new job advertisement from Respawn Entertainment suggests.

Last year, the actor playing protagonist Cal Kestis had already made it clear that Part 3 was definitely planned within the franchise. These speculations are now receiving new fuel through the job advertisement from Respawn Entertainment, although neither the developer nor the publisher have yet formally announced the latest part of the franchise.

In any case, Respawn is now looking for a senior game writer who will work specifically for the development team, which is still called “Star Wars Jedi”. This team is also looking for a Principal Game Designer, a Hero Combat Designer and a Senior Software Engineer. The latter will be based on Unreal Engine 5 and will help develop the latest project by this development team at Respawn.

What makes the advertisement for the position for a senior game writer special in contrast to the other jobs is the fact that it specifically states that he will work on a new, as yet “unannounced” Star Wars title. He should also have experience working on AAA third-person action adventures, which would also be a perfect fit for a new Star Wars Jedi.

The earlier statements by Cal Kestis actor Cameron Monaghan and the current job advertisements strongly suggest that EA has now given the green light for another part of the Star Wars Jedi series. Since a senior writer is still being sought, the game may still be in an earlier phase, possibly pre-production. An official announcement and release could therefore take some time to come. Meanwhile, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor also lands in EA's game subscription EA Play this week.
