Episode 1 was considered the worst Star Wars film upon release. Millions of fans who grew up with the original trilogy rejected the new blockbusters, especially Babe Jar Jar Binks, away. Episode 1 in the cinema again – can Star Wars convince?

In the USA, The Phantom Menace took a phenomenal second place in the box office charts with $8.08 million, right behind The Fall Guy, the remake of A Gun for All Cases. Already on Friday, Star Wars Episode 1 managed to make an impressive $2.3 million at the box office, more than twice as much as the old Spider-Man films with Tobey Maguire, which were also shown again in cinemas weeks ago. How did things go in Germany?

Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace was also completely convincing in this country. With 100,000 visitors it was also number 2 in the charts.
