VR glasses fill shelves: PS5 gadget disappoints Sony
The PlayStation VR2 was released on February 22, 2023 and costs 599.99 euros. If you want the game Horizon Call of The Mountain, you'll even pay 50 euros more (source: Sony). According to market analyst Yijia Zhai, the high price is one of the main reasons why the console gadget falls short of expectations. But that is not enough:

There are currently hardly any games that support VR glasses and this will mean that gamers are not motivated to buy the hardware. But there is also a reason for the lack of content – developing VR games is significantly more expensive than developing normal games.

Sony seems to have miscalculated with the PS VR2. The production stop also means that the console manufacturer expected a lot more sales. However, Sony is already working on a way to do this to get new players for the PS5 gadgets. Work is currently underway to make the VR glasses compatible with the PC. This would at least eliminate the major disadvantage that VR fans need both the glasses and the console. However, the problem remains that there are simply not enough games for the PS VR2.
