After 12 years, a real successor to Until Dawn is expected to finally appear next year. And after watching the trailer, I’m sure: this thing will be a must buy for me!

I admit: Until Dawn 2 I didn’t have it on my State of Play bingo card yesterday. The surprise was all the better when the trailer for the next part of the teen slasher series flashed across my screen at home. And what I saw definitely makes me want more!
Ciao snow, hello tropical island!
Instead of having fun in a lonely mountain hut, this time we seem to be heading to a deserted tropical island – nice! A group of young and ambitious ghost hunters want to investigate an old legend on the island and apparently do not come across faulty EMF sensors and ectoplasm, but a cold-blooded killer.
Of course, there’s also a big portion of teen drama, love triangles and all sorts of decisions that probably not only influence the characters’ relationships with one another, but also decide between life and death in tricky situations. And that’s exactly what I’m up for – especially in couch co-op with my friends!
Until Dawn 2 revives my PS5
Even though there isn’t a specific date for Until Dawn 2 other than the 2027 release period, I’m really looking forward to it! This is probably due, among other things, to the fact that the interactive film is finally a reason for me to dust off my PS5.
The last time I used it was around six months ago to play through A Way Out (test) again with a friend – but since then the Sony console has been living in the shadows for me. But that’s probably also because I personally don’t care a bit about some PS5 hits like Saros (test) and thanks to an extremely long HDMI cable I now play most of the games on the TV on my PC.
All the better that next year, Until Dawn 2, another gaming hit will be released for the PS5, which will remind me once again of what I bought the Sony console for in the first place: strong exclusive games.
