Sonnet Echo 13 Triple 4K Display Dock Now Available

The Sonnet Echo 13 Triple 4K Display Dock offers triple screen support for the Mac M1 and also provides legacy ports.

Unveiled Monday, the Sonnet Echo 13 Triple 4K Display Dock follows the Echo 11 and Echo 20 and lets you add more ports to your Mac or MacBook Pro.As the name suggests, its main feature has to do with how many displays it can handle.

There are three pairs of ports on the back of the docking station, three for each of the DisplayPort and HDMI ports.Because they are paired, users can choose which port of each pair to connect to based on their needs.

For Mac M1 and M2 owners who have to deal with low display support, the inclusion of DisplayLink means these limited Macs can handle more displays than Apple’s limit. This means that even a MacBook Air M1 with built-in support for one external display can now run up to three.

The docking station can support up to three 4K displays at up to 60Hz, and they can be mixed between HDMI and DisplayPort connections.

The port mix on the back includes four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a USB-C connection to a host computer that can also provide 100W power delivery.
