As you explore the woods north of the starting camp and Harve Village, you will come across Eini's House. As you enter, you will come across a little girl named Trysha chatting with her grandmother Eini. The little girl wants to be able to learn magic. A request that the grandmother refuses, under the pretext that the little one's father forbids her from learning magic.

Once their conversation is over, talk to Trysha who will ask you to bring her some grimoires to learn magic on your own. She then gives you a list of the grimoires that interest her and tells you that you will have to bring them to her when her grandmother is away, otherwise they will be confiscated.

You will therefore need to find 5 grimoires, namely:

  • Let there be light
  • Thundering Shield
  • Death knell of the nation
  • Howling Blizzard
  • Imposing Earth

If young Trysha tells you that you don't have to bring them all to her, know that you will get a better reward by bringing her all 5 books.

We strongly advise you to have a copy of each grimoire made at the Ibrahim Bazaar in the Stopover Village. Indeed, if you have to give the original grimoires to Trysha to validate the quest, the copies can be used in another quest.

Location of the Grimoire Let There Be Light

To find this book, you will have to go to the heights of the Stopover Village to find the house of Myrddin, Trysha's father. To approach his house without him slamming the door in your face, you will have to wear the Refined Tunic and Courtesan Shoes, as for the masked ball in the quest
The usurper.

Thus dressed, you will be able to enter the house and retrieve the grimoire Let there be light on his desk upstairs.

Note that it is also possible to break into the house by climbing the balcony. But be careful not to be spotted.

Location of the Thundering Shield grimoire

This book is rather easy to collect since you just have to go buy it from the traveling merchant Dudley. The latter is most of the time at the entrance to the village of Harve. The grimoire
Thundering Shield will cost you 5000 coins.

Location of the Nation's Knell and Howling Blizzard spellbooks

These two grimoires can be collected at the same time in the Waterfall Cave. This cave is located right next to where your gryphon is shot at the very beginning of your adventure.

Be careful, however, to be well prepared before venturing there since the Waterfall Cave is actually a dungeon. And it contains many enemies and especially two notable bosses, namely a Chimera and a Lost Soul.

While exploring the dungeon, you will eventually find a chest on level 2 surrounded by books. This contains the two grimoires
Death knell of the nation And Howling Blizzard. Note that as soon as you open the chest, the Lost Soul will appear to attack you. However, you do not have to fight it and you can choose to flee.

There is a second copy of the grimoire Death knell of the nation. The latter is located in the ruins of the fortress of the ancient battlefield. However, we advise you to complete the Oskar escort quest which awaits you not far from the entrance to the battlefield. Indeed, the grimoire is necessary for Oskar to activate the bell and you will therefore not be able to finish the quest if you have already collected the book.

Towering Earth Grimoire Location

To obtain this book, simply speak a second time to Waldhar the magistrate you meet as part of the quest The sequestered magistrate. Depending on your progress, you will therefore have to go either to his cell in the palace jails, or to the archives hidden under the Lower Quarters revealed during the quest. The abyss of history.

End of the quest The Magic of Books

Once you have found the books, we recommend that you make a copy at the Ibrahim Bazaar located in the Stopover Village. Once done, you can return to Eini's House to give the books to Trysha. To do this, you will have to wait until the grandparents are no longer in the house.

If, however, patience is not your strong point, you can grab the little one and take her outside the house so that she agrees to talk to you.

Give the 5 grimoires to Trysha then let a few days pass before coming back to see her. When you return, the situation has obviously degenerated and the girl's powers are out of control.

Under no circumstances should you attack Trysha. You just have to rush at her several times to force her to teleport. This way your magical energy will deplete enough for you to grab it.

If unfortunately you are not fast enough or damage is inflicted on her, Trysha will not survive, which will defeat the quest. However, it seems that bringing Trysha back to life with a Waking Stone updates the quest and the game therefore considers your intervention a success.

All you have to do is come back to Trysha's house a little later to talk to her. She will then offer you the Notes of a Witch which allow you to obtain the skill Meteor shower for the wizard class. You also have a chance to get a wizard's staff from the grandparents. Finally, if your affinity with Trysha is high enough, you will be able to obtain the Gleaner specialization tome. This will end the quest The magic of books of Dragon's Dogma 2.
