Silent Hill 2 Remake: PS5 exclusivity limited

Konami sweetened the end of the week with a new trailer for the upcoming remake of “Silent Hill 2”. The trailer not only introduces us to various immersion features. The video also reveals when the PS5 exclusivity on the consoles ends.

In the coming weeks, developers and publishers will usher in what will hopefully be an exciting autumn of gaming. One of the first potential highlights is the remake of “Silent Hill 2”which was created by the Polish studio Bloober Team.

At the end of the week, Konami and the developers at Bloober Team provided us with another trailer for the comeback of the legendary horror classic. This time, it's all about the various features that the studio wants to use to create a particularly immersive horror experience.

On the PS5, players benefit above all from the exclusive features of the DualSense controller. This includes the dynamic use of the light bar. But just see for yourself.

How long will the console version remain PS5 exclusive?

As Konami and Sony announced shortly after the official unveiling As announced by the developers of the remake in fall 2022, “Silent Hill 2” will be released for PC and on consoles as a time exclusive for the PS5. But how long will the horror remake only be available on consoles for the PS5?

According to the trailer, the remake will only be available on consoles for the PS5 until October 8, 2025. This means that the time exclusivity that Sony secured is one year.

Optional filters provide a classic horror experience

A few days ago, the developers at Bloober Team revealed that support for the DualSense is not the only feature the studio wants to use to create a spooky atmosphere and an intense experience.

In addition, the remake of “Silent Hill 2” an optional filterwhich makes the remake shine in the style of the horror titles of the nineties.



“We also created a '90s filter with grain effect, color correction, and screen adjustments to complete the old-school experience,” Bloober Team commented on the recently announced filter.
